Finch’s lead candidate, CP101, is in late-stage clinical development for recurrent C. difficile infection (CDI). In June 2020, Finch announced that CP101 met its primary efficacy endpoint in PRISM3, the first of two pivotal trials to support the development of CP101 for the prevention of recurrent CDI. Finch is also developing CP101 for chronic hepatitis B, and FIN-211 for autism spectrum disorder. In partnership with Takeda, Finch is advancing FIN-524 and FIN-525 for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, respectively. 

 

Position Summary 

The Quality Control (QC) Associate with guidance from the QC Supervisor and Senior Manager of QC, will support manufacturing activities by testing Drug Substance and Drug Product as it pertains to lot release and stability studies following current Good manufacturing Practices. The QC Associate will also contribute to qualification of test methods by testing samples, calculating data and reporting results.  The QC Associate will contribute to strategic planning initiatives regarding process improvements across all QC systems. This individual will communicate with professionalism and clarity both internally and across groups to support the integration of a company-wide understanding of Quality Control.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Support routine testing of raw materials, in-process materials and final products in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulations
    • Flow Cytometry
    • Disintegration
    • Visual Appearance
    • pH
    • Environmental Monitoring
    • Residual Moisture
  • Ensure adherence to release/stability testing and timelines
  • Collect, process and distribute samples in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of personal compliance to the required standards
  • Maintain logbooks related to inventory and equipment
  • Ensure labs are clean and safe (in compliance with cGMP and safety standards) and properly stocked
  • Inspect incoming lots of in-process materials for conformance with applicable specifications
  • Provide support for all QC operations in relation to quality systems (e.g. change controls, CAPA, deviations, etc.)
  • General maintenance of lab equipment
  • Participate in method transfers, qualifications, and validations
  • Troubleshoot methods and instrumentation
  • Participate in writing and revising SOPs, Test Methods, and other technical documents
  • Make detailed observations in support of Alert, Action and OOS result investigations
  • Participate in the qualification of laboratory equipment

 

Qualifications  

  • 3+ years of Quality Control or cGMP testing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, or related field
  • Experience in aseptic technique
  • Experience in bioassay methodology (ELISA, cytotoxicity, cell-based assays, residual protein)
  • Experience in 96-well plate methodology
  • HPLC instrument experience a plus
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, data-driven, and a team player
  • Be flexible and excited to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving needs
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment/gowning for clean space for several hours
