Finch is also developing FIN-211 for children with autism spectrum disorder and significant gastrointestinal symptoms. Finch has a partnership with Takeda focused on the development of targeted microbiome therapeutics for inflammatory bowel disease.

   

Position Summary   

As a Shipping & Material Technician at Finch Therapeutics, you will play a key role in material receiving & shipping, inventory management, and supplier management. Individuals will work closely with Quality Assurance to release critical raw material and other items. They will also work closely with Domestic shippers, as well as White Glove Couriers. The Materials Management team is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and assuring that the material and shipping needs are met for Donor Operations, Quality Control, and Manufacturing departments. 

 

Responsibilities   

  • Receive incoming materials while reconciling each item against open purchase order  
  • Ship materials to various locations utilizing vendor specific software (i.e. UPS WorldShip) 
  • Arrange transport and shipment of general product including biological samples. 
  • Arrange transport and shipment of drug product to clinical depot sites. 
  • Arrange international transport of products, working with couriers and brokers. 
  • Understand the documentation and logistic needs of international shipments. 
  • Perform all job duties in accordance with GxP, SOP and safety guidelines 
  • Stock inventory locations as needed throughout the site 
  • Communicate with vendors regarding delivery status, back orders, and report discrepancies  
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance on material release process  
  • Conduct lab walkthroughs to obtain inventory counts  
  • Support the conduct daily cycle counts of inventory as needed 
  • Attend and participate in both live and virtual meetings daily to check in and check out  
  • Availability to work weekends, if necessary 

 

Qualifications    

  • 1 year of experience in supply chain management and procurement is preferable but not required 
  • Ability to consistently conduct and present in virtual meetings  
  • Excellent oral and written communication  
  • Strong planning, time management, organizational skills with superior attention to detail  
  • Flexible with ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet on-going deadlines efficiently  
  • Proficient using a PC and utilizing Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook  
  • UPS World Ship experience preferred but not required. 
  • Experience with international shipping preferred but not required.

  • Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand for extended periods of time as well as occasionally required to walk, sit, bend down/ crouch, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  
  • Work environment: Work will be performed in both an office and laboratory/ manufacturing facility. The noise level in the office is low. The noise level in the laboratory/ manufacturing facility is moderate.
